IPL - 3- The game begins

The lucrative ,cash rich third version of Indian Premiere Leauge auction has been held and has few interesting and shocking outcomes.

The hottest pick of the day was the tall ,sturdy West Indies All rounder Keiron Pollard bid for 750,000$ by the Mumbai Indians(thats the maximum a team can spend and in tie breaker it has exceeded that amount).

The New zealand pace spear head Shane Bond who has retired from the test cricket to concentrate on the shorter version of games was bid for the same whopping amount by the Knight Riders.

Kemar Roach again from the Carribean islands was the second costliest player with the bid of 720,000 $ by the deccan chargers.

The Angered Pakistanis:



The strange thing is that none of the 11 Pakistani players were bid inspite of having many potential t2o players.Lalit Modi has refused any discriminations and has said the franchises are lookig for available players and pointed out many star players who were not bid and 67 players were auctioned for 13 vacancies.

Afridi was quoted saying that "The way I see it, the IPL and India have made fun of us and our country," he said. "We are the Twenty20 world champions and for me the attitude of the franchises was disappointing. I feel bad for the Indian people who, I am sure, wanted to see us play in the IPL this year." However, Ijaz Butt, the PCB chairman, was relatively unfazed. "It really does not bother us; what difference does it make to us if our players don't play in the IPL this season? They didn't play in the last season as well," he said.(I wonder if he has any connections with former president Bush,I mean don you see how he talks ,BOTH SOUNDS STUPID )

P.s :Lets hope no terrorist attacks happen in India quoting this rejection as a reason.

Mumbai Indians:

The Mumbai Indians spent the entire amount on Keiron Pollard.A tie breaker occured between Mumbai ,Chennai ,Bangalore and Kolkatta and finally Mumbai Indians won the race .Truly worth every cent spent.

Chennai super kings was'nt lucky enough to get the bids.They lost Pollard ,Bond,Roach and Morgan in the bid.They finally settled for the srilankan allrounder Thissara Perera at 50,000$ who recently scored century in his debut against India.Justin kemp was bought at the last for 100,000$.

Known for their spending capacity,brand value etc etc (of course not for playing cricket) made a lavish bid on Bond for 7,50,000$ after a tie breaker with deccan.A potential wicket taker(aana oru bowler ku idu overa ila).

Deccan Chargers:

After losing pollard and Bond in tie breaker they secured the services of West Indies Pacer Roach for a whopping 720,000$ (!!!! atleast they have few batsmen unlike kkr).Left with 30,000 $ they bought u-19 player Harmeet Singh for 8 lac Rs.

Delhi did not bid for any big guns and bid South African pacer Parnell for 600,000$,the third expensive SA player in IPL.

Kings xi entered the contest for Pollard and Roach but failed to capitalise,They bid for west Indies Batsman Adrian Bharath for 75,000 $ and finally bought Kaif for 250,000$(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and Yusuf Abdulla to fill their only overseas slot left.

The always different and cheap Franchise did'nt enter the bid for any big guns.They recuirted Damien Martyn without any contest for 100,000 $ and Australian all rounder Adam Voges for 50,000 $ and as usual quoted sayin they got what they wanted and this is the right mix etc etc...
