Aayirathil oruvan-This s not a review

DISCLAIMER: NOT AIMED AT CRITICISING OR DEGRADING THE MOVIE .READ FULLY .

Aayirathil oruvan one of its kind rather first of its kind in Tamil cinema,hats off to Selva for that.I guess most of you would have watched the movie so i dont wanna waste my time on crew ,plot etc etc and people who havent watched the movie ,i kindly request you not to read this.

CREDITS:

Goin for the credits ,there are lots of positive aspects in the movie.The whole first half for instance and cinematography...Wowwww absolutely mind blowing.Ramji deserves a salute for that.I guess theres no need to benchmark hollywood anymore.Ramji and Selva has made a stamp, a benchmark of their own.The pre historic stuff gives a authnetic ancient feel
and Reemas costumes and acting deserve a special appreciation.Kollywood is wasting a potential actress.Karthik and Parthiban has done justice to their roles.The second half is not bad as many said ,only it takes a bit more to understand.There's no denying the logic is difficult to understand in some parts.

Logic in Fantasy genre:

Logics and Fantasies

There are two kinda logical breaches,one like VIJAY MOVIES and the other FANTASIES.

Take Avatar or Harry potter whole story is illogical but for each illogical scene they offer an explanation in illogical logic i.e,fantasy logic.

For example in Avatar they control birds direction with mind but they offered an explanation how it is done.In Harry potter wand does anything, how brooms fly ,how each magic works have an fantasy explanation.In spider man how he spins out web ,jumps all have a fantasy explanation.

Thats wat aayirathil oruvan misses in few scenes.An explanation of those few scenes would have made second half reach out to all.Theres no denial theres explanation but its difficult for 90 % of people to percieve as its abstract.

Cholas and Pandias...

Though the movie has a disclaimer its completely fictional.I dont blame anything logically that the cholas and pandiyas were not so and so.Quentin tarantino provided a fictional end to Hitlers Life in the movie "Inglorious Basterds" .Hitler didnt have a positive image in the pages of history,so it didnt look odd.But the cholas and Pandiyas had a positive image in the pages of Tamil Nadu History .Potraying the cholas stealing a Pandyan statue and the Cholan People being tortured mercilessly by the Pandyas men in the ship do look a bit odd.The younger generation wouldn mind as most of them wouldn know such histories or dont mind about that much.Its a question how well it goes with older people and social activists..............

The notion of this post is not to talk ill about the film ,its a worry such a brave ,bold and unique attempt will be criticized for the following reasons.Selva could have made it completely fictional with completely imaginary civilizations instead of tampering an existing one and kept a clearer fantasy explanation for few illogical scenes and it would have been acclaimed by all people.........

All the best selva for the next venture and the sequel...............
